In case you missed it, Poetic Justice voyaged to Washington, D.C. for Howard University's epic Homecoming weekend. We're always looking for ways to meet our PJ friends and also to continually make new ones, so we knew HU's Homecoming was the perfect place to be. To sum up the experience in one word-

LIT!

We kicked off the weekend on Thursday with HU's ultra glam NYC Fashion Week inspired show, "Untitled" where we sponsored alongside other great brands, and watched Howard Unversity's most fashionable students showcase their modelling, dance, and musical talents. Poetic Justice hosted a preshow reception for the VIP guests and gave away custom gift bags to the audience.

The fashion show was followed by YardFest, a concert and festival on Howard University's yard, on Friday. From Migos and Fabulous to Faith Evans and Common, YardFest was absolutely incredible. During YardFest, we handed out tees, buttons, and chocolate while spreading the word about our awesome brand!

Though it rained for a bit in the middle of the show, the rain did not ruin our parade. (Some new friends even sheltered themselves from the storm in our booth.) Not only did we see some of our favorite artists hit the stage but we also met fabulous PJ lovers from all over the world! We met hundreds of students who were interested in Poetic Justice, and many who were interested in internships and becoming a brand ambassador. Not only were these young women gorgeous and stylish, they were smart go-getters, representing the kind of #BlackGirlMagic that Poetic Justice loves to celebrate.

Somehow we managed to get up bright and early on Saturday morning to hit the Homecoming Game with the Bisons (mascot) against North Carolina A&T's Aggies. In true PJ fashion, we were VIP and literally rubbing elbows with the stars like Lance Gross and Keri Hilson. At the game, we were proud to present a $5,000 fashion scholarship for HowardUniversity's Division of Fine Arts. This was probably our proudest moment of the entire weekend because we're committed to investing in the next generation of Black fashion designers.

After the game we returned to the yard to find sorority members singing in a ring. Women who had graduated in the 70s had returned to Howard University to support the school's community alongside students from 2016. This really showed the strength of the HU community and the longevity of it's legacy.

As if that weren't enough we had the honor of being invited to Howard U.'s Presidential Party at Newseum on Pennslyvania Avenue. We partied the night away alongside HU's who's who, supporting the University's President, to cap off our amazing weekend.

It was such an honor to be a part of the Howard community last month! We are already looking forward and planning big things for next year! Have you ever been to Howard Homecoming? If so, let us know how it all went down for you in the comments below!
