When Poetic Justice was extended an exclusive invitation to participate in Los Angeles Fashion Week’s runway event we were both honored and elated. The celebrity studded Fashion Week event is a combination of Fashion Shows, pop-up shops and displays, and networking events. This affair is a merging of the apparel industry’s finest talent in Los Angeles, where boutiques and fashion editors and exciting LA-based brands can come together to exchange ideas and form relationships. We would showcase to all of these amazing members of the industry, side-by-side with the latest, hottest Los Angeles based fashion brands.

 

Los Angeles Fashion Week

 

Our team spent more than a month preparing for the event. We scouted models, held several fittings, spent hours poring over music selections and revising our styling choices for every look. Finally, the time came for the show to start, and we were confronted with a packed house of fashion editors, bloggers, and retail exectutives. All of our friends were there, but also all of our soon-to-be competitors. The pressure was on.  

For a few minutes, fashion styles from knit-denim joggers to vegan leather, from metallic animal print to subtle fashion denim,  swaggered up and down the catwalk. For a moment, nothing else in the world was more important than the hard work and effort our team had invested in bring a new voice to fashion's round table. And despite several carefully chosen platform heels...  no one tripped.

 

The show was a success. We were met with rave reviews and were proud to showcase to our community our exciting brand that represented a new era of fashion that would be inclusive for all women regardless of ethnicity, size or shape.
